Community Risk Reduction (CRR) is a prevention-first approach, focusing on emergency preparedness, community engagement, and education. CRR is a strategic, data-driven effort designed to help Detroit residents live safer, healthier lives while staying prepared and resilient.
The Detroit Fire Department’s CRR program works to reduce fire-related injuries and fatalities in high-risk areas by educating residents and businesses about hazards in the home and throughout the community. The program also strengthens trust between the fire department and the communities we serve while ensuring equitable access to life-safety resources and services.
Through CRR, our communities are empowered to stay safer, better prepared for emergencies, and more resilient should unexpected events occur.
Residents can take a deep dive into the data in their neighborhood by using our interactive community risk reduction tool by visiting the CRAIG 1300 website.
